Changed app's name to 'Charon'
The original name, "PhotoTriage," was closer to the app's purpose but had strong negative connotations. The word "triage" came under public spotlight during the COVID-19 pandemic, when hospitals had to choose which patients to aid because there wasn't enough space for all of them.
The new name though, "Charon", stems from the Ferryman in Dante's Inferno. This might seem like an unusual choice, but Charon's role as a guide for souls making a crossing perfectly mirrors how the app helps you navigate and sort your images. It’s about making quick decisions, swiping left to keep, right to delete, to ferry your photos to their rightful place. With on-device machine learning, your deck is even pre-sorted, making that journey through your gallery smooth and efficient.
