Privacy questions and requests: privacy@yannberton.com. App support: contact@yannberton.com. You may also use the private contact form. The imprint identifies the operator.
Content you choose to use
Damsel processes the voice recordings, transcripts, written passages, names, notes, portraits, language choices and imported audio you choose to use. It stores this content to create and organize voices, generate synthetic speech, play and export recordings, and edit audio projects.
You choose when to record from the microphone or import a file or portrait through the system's permission and selection interfaces. You can decline microphone permission and import an existing recording. Use only voices, recordings and images you own or have permission to use.
On-device speech and Live
Speech generation runs on your device using the installed voice model. The app does not send voice samples or written passages to a developer-operated inference service. It has no cloud speech-generation fallback.
Live uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and Apple Intelligence conversation capabilities when available for the device and language. Current conversation messages remain in the active session. Completed spoken replies are saved as recordings with their text and audio. Starting a new conversation does not delete those saved recordings.
Apple may download the system assets needed for speech recognition or Apple Intelligence. Model and language-asset installation need a connection even though the subsequent processing occurs on device.
Your local and private iCloud library
The app stores library content locally and can synchronize voices, portraits, reference audio, recordings and compositions with their source media through your Apple Account's private iCloud library. Synchronization transfers that content to Apple's services so it can arrive on your other signed-in devices. It does not publish your library to other Damsel users.
The local studio remains usable without an available iCloud account. Metadata and audio can arrive at different times. Voice-model files, engine caches, temporary exports, device preferences and unsaved drafts are separate from the synchronized media library.
Apple operates iCloud and its underlying services. Apple's policies and your account and system settings govern those services. See Apple's privacy policy. This notice does not promise that all Apple-held data is inaccessible to Apple or establish a particular encryption setting.
Voice-model downloads
Damsel uses Apple's managed Background Assets services to install and download voice models. Model downloads are separate from your personal recordings and private library. They require a connection and available installation and working storage.
Purchases and the free allowance
Purchases and subscriptions use Apple's App Store and StoreKit. Damsel does not ask for payment-card details or a separate Damsel account. The app reads verified product and transaction identifiers, renewal information and access, expiration, revocation or grace-period dates to determine feature access. Entitlement state is held in memory and refreshed from StoreKit. The app does not maintain a separate purchase-history database or send purchase information to a developer-operated billing service.
The free allowance is three successful speech generations per device each calendar day, shared by the studio and spoken Live replies. The app records completed-generation counts and the latest observed day in local preferences. These records contain no voice audio or passage text, are not synchronized through iCloud and are not sent to a developer service. A successful generation counts on its reservation day; failure or cancellation returns the slot. Moving the clock backward does not reopen a previously observed day.
Local allowance records have no automatic expiry and remain with those preferences until removed or reset. Deleting a library item does not clear them. Device backups may retain preferences separately.
Apple handles its account, payment and app-distribution information under its own practices. Its developer services may make sales, download and diagnostic reports available to the app developer. Apple's optional diagnostic-sharing settings and service notices explain the associated collection; the app does not include an advertising or third-party analytics SDK. This policy does not describe all Apple-held information as data that stays solely on your device.
Apple Watch, system controls and exports
The Watch companion obtains a recent recording catalog and selected audio through the private iCloud library; a paired iPhone can also deliver updates. Downloads and favorites are stored on the watch. Removing a watch download keeps the original library recording.
Recording titles, voice names, artwork and generation or playback status can appear in system playback controls, Live Activities, widgets or complications. Consider what those surfaces display when choosing personal names, images or content.
When you share or export a file, it is provided to the destination you select. That destination may save, transmit or publish its copy under its own practices. Deleting an item in Damsel does not remove exported or shared copies.
Support and this website
If you contact support, the operator receives your email address and the information you choose to send. Include only what is needed to understand the problem; do not send passwords, access codes or unrelated private recordings. Operational app messages use the device's system logging. You can choose to provide an error message or diagnostic material when requesting help.
Website forms store messages in the private administrator inbox; they do not send an automatic email confirmation. The published contact mailboxes use Apple iCloud Mail. The website privacy notice explains website and email recipients, legal bases, infrastructure processing and deletion criteria. Support correspondence is kept for handling the request and any necessary follow-up or concrete legal obligation, then reviewed for deletion. The product support form and email have no automatic fixed-day deletion deadline; deleting an app or website account does not automatically erase separately submitted correspondence.
Retention and deletion of your content
Your library content remains until you delete it using the app's library controls. Connected devices may need time and a connection to synchronize a deletion. Compositions can retain source audio for editing or undo separately from the original recording, so removing a timeline clip does not establish deletion of every source copy.
Local drafts, caches, exported files and system backups have separate lifetimes. Removing Damsel does not establish deletion of its private iCloud library. Removing a watch download removes that local copy. Cancelling a subscription is separate from deleting content or removing the app; use Apple's subscription-management controls.
Privacy requests and changes
You can contact privacy@yannberton.com to ask about information associated with you or request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable. You may withdraw consent for processing based on consent and object to processing based on legitimate interests under the applicable conditions. The operator may need proportionate information to identify a request without disclosing another person's data. Requests are handled within the applicable legal time limits.
You may complain to a competent data-protection authority. For the operator's location, the authority is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz. The General Data Protection Regulation describes the applicable rights and conditions.
This page will be updated when the described practices change, with an updated effective date. Website privacy information and Apple's service notices remain separate from this app-specific policy.
